Social entrepreneur Dr Sizwe Nxasana is the CEO of Sifiso Learning Group, a South African education group designing and scaling applied learning and future-skills interventions across the education continuum. Through its integrated ecosystem – including IKAMVA Preschools, Future Nation Schools, Sifiso EdTech, Nation NXT College and Future Nation Foundation – the Group delivers holistic education solutions spanning early childhood development, schooling, teacher education and education technology, underpinned by Project-Based Learning, applied digital skills and entrepreneurship education.
Committed to transforming education in South Africa, he holds a PhD in Education, with a focus on Project-Based Learning, from Aalborg University’s UNESCO PBL Centre in Denmark.
A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), Dr Nxasana served as CEO of Telkom South Africa, leading its dual listing on the Johannesburg and New York Stock Exchanges. He later served as CEO of FirstRand Banking Group until his retirement in 2015.
Mr Nxasana serves as Chairman of various Foundations and Trusts. He is Co-founder and Chairperson of the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT) and Founder and Chairperson of the Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme (ISFAP). He also serves as Chairman of the UJ Johannesburg Business School International Advisory Board and a member of the Joint Advisory Board of Carnegie Mellon University—Africa.
