Ms Ramothwa’s career in education started in 1990 at the Gauteng Department of Education, where she worked for 18 years, progressing from a Post Level 1 educator to Deputy Principal by 2008.

She was then promoted to the Department of Education’s Head Office, where she served as Deputy Chief Education Specialist in the Policy Evaluation Sub-Directorate. In this role, she monitored and evaluated the department’s policies, strategies, programmes, projects, and interventions.

She also trained directorates in developing the Terms of References, Theory of Change and Logic Models for their implementation programmes, ensuring alignment with the department’s strategic goals. Her work improved policy, performance, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.

Since 2017, she has also worked as an ad hoc General Evaluator for uMalusi, assessing independent schools seeking accreditation.
